Investor Relations Servicing Representative

(This is a primarily office-linked role in our downtown Cleveland office).

Since 2014, Upright has challenged the status quo of slow, unreliable capital and gate-keeping into investment deals. We’ve grown into an end-to-end financial technology platform that helps entrepreneurs and investors generate wealth and make an impact in their own communities across the country.

We are doubling down on delivering exceptional service to our accredited retail investors. For an Investor Relations Servicing Agent, this means managing investor accounts, addressing inquiries, facilitating technical assistance, and providing transparent project updates.  This role reports directly to the VP, Capital Markets. We operate in a fast-paced environment and seek a candidate with excellent communication skills who can collaborate with the business to improve existing processes.

Who You Are

You describe yourself as a top-tier communicator. You can easily collaborate with a variety of people in various functions to improve existing processes and provide accurate and timely updates.

You enjoy educating investors and answering their needs. You're passionate about real estate investing and are eager to help more people invest in this desirable asset class.

You have a service-oriented attitude characterized by empathy, active listening skills, and a commitment to achieving shared success. This translates to a results-driven and user-centric mindset, demonstrating innovation and adaptability within highly complex and rapidly evolving environments.

What You’ll Do

As an Investor Relations Servicing Agent, you’ll provide best-in-class transparency and clear, concise communication as an intermediary between our Servicing teams and active investors. You’ll do this by:

  • Overseeing investor onboarding and accreditation, including working with 3rd parties to validate Investor Accreditation Status and pass KYC/KYB/AML checks as well as working with the investor and internal teams to remove bottlenecks and minimize confusion with the required onboarding process.

  • Managing incoming investor communications through phone, chatbot, and service queues, ensuring prompt, accurate responses and minimal missed calls, while delivering best-in-class service to build investor trust and confidence.

  • Routing inquiries to the appropriate team members, and coordinating the delivery of substantive responses to both prospective and active investors.

  • Monitoring submitted investments to ensure validity, investor eligibility & fund clearance.

  • Aggregating investor feedback and proposing solutions in order to minimize common investor complaints and more efficiently and effectively manage platform experience

  • Collaborating with Marketing, Technology, and other internal partners to optimize the user experience through enhancements to the company’s proprietary technology and online workflow, educational content, etc.

Your First 90 Days in the Role

Your training will begin with some Upright basics (who are we, what do we do, where does the role fit into the organization). This is delivered through a partnership between our People Team and the Investor Relations team. You’ll be set up with the hardware and tools needed to execute at a high level from the very beginning.

You’ll accomplish early success in the role by immersing yourself in best practices, educating yourself on the asset class, and absorbing essential team information. We’ll provide the context and knowledge which, coupled with your curiosity and urgency, will support the accelerated actualization of the anticipated impact you’ll have in the role.

Preferred Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, finance, marketing, economics, or a related field.

  • 2+ years of experience directly engaging with investors, preferably within a high-growth organization in the real estate sector.

  • Strong analytical skills and exceptional oral and written communication abilities.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

  • Familiarity with financial modeling techniques and valuation methods used in the real estate sector, along with a comprehensive understanding of key industry metrics preferred.
